Oil dependency #8

  1. The our community has to realize that oil supply is not forever. We have to recycle what we use to make good use of it over and over again. Our community also has to start with new innovation so may not depend on oil. By new innovations i mean, new technology, grow your own foods and make use of old stuff dont just throw it to the trash. What we can do to reduce carbon footprint is recycle plastic bags, bottles, cans, and car oil. By doing so your are helping our planet and brings two benefits to you. You get payed to recycle and you keep our planet clean so we can be healthy and so other generations can enjoy this planet too. People should think about the damage they have done already by burning fossil fuels. We can make a difference but only if everybody put part. I think i will resist into slipping back into old habbits. I'm very confident about how to use and reuse supplys, i know why i recycle, and how to recycle, i know the benefits i get by not depending on oil.

Business Close

The oil crisis has left several business in the city stock broke. The local markets where I use to buy my groceries are now closing because of lack of costumers for not having good beverages, fruits, and vegetables. The employees were fired and have to look for a new job somewhere else and the only thing they new how to do is work as a cashier or maintaining the store. They no longer get there production from big companies, because the big companies charge more because the exportation cost more money and the local money can’t afford exportation goods from other countries. I now buy my goods at Cosco. Prices are not so chip but they have what I need. I also grow some vegetables in my gardens, like tomatoes, peas, beans, and bell peppers. Is not a lot but is something that makes a difference. The prospects in our community or some what limited. When a store closes, there is always another store close that has good business and good things to sale. But what would happen if all the stores that is near by run out of business. We would even have to be force to buy our food for a higher price. And not much would be bought because companies are not paying their employees more then they use to because their shipments are very little because of the oil shortages. I have a speed bike with a basket. The basket is to put my supplies in their. I no longer drive a car because gas prices roused up to $5:67 a gallon. The speed bike is fast durable and it gets me to places. When the store closed near by, people had no other choice but to buy their goods in a big store like Cosco or Wal-Mart. They need essential goods like milk, salt, rice, sugar, meat; and even though the prices are high people still need to buy to survive.

Saving Our Oceans #7

Me and my crew members from Greenpeace are heading to the gulf where the oil spill killed 11 people. We are going to help out on anything we can. We have united with US Coast Guards. As a member of Greenpeace, i dont like our oceans to get contaminated no more. I hate the fact that there is oil drills in the oceans, it kills our fishes, and contaminates the water. If the water is contaminated fisher cannot fish because the fishes are dying or are dangerous to eat. If fishers can't fish they are jobless and they can not take care of their familes. Some fishes that are contaminated might already be on the market for sale, and this might get people sick and probably die of poison. President Obama should look other ways to find oil but not in the ocean. Laws should be made that oil drilling is prohibited in the oceans.
