Food Shortage

Its been weeks now and as oil shortage continues, other factors are beggining to take place. Food shortage for example. I buy my mangos at a local market. Two days ago i went to buy my mangos and an employee of the store told me that they were out of my mangos because, they were to expensive to get them because they come from Costa Rica. After wards i went to see if there were any oranges. There were oranges except they were expensive, they were 1 dollar a pound, and it use to be 1 dollar for three pounds. Since the oranges are exported from mexico in container trucks, gas is expensive so they must charge more for what is demanded. I am one example of how many people are suffering from oil shortage.

Supply and Demand

Supply is what people make, the production of something. Demand is what people need and want. To supply and demand is to make something that people need and want to satify their needs. If there is an item that people do not use no more, the items production will decrease. If a the demand increases the supply increase. if supply decreases the prices goes up because items will be hard to find and buy them somewhere else. What i was surprise to learn is that Canada is the second largest oil producer in the world. Saudi Arabia comes first.

Uses Of Oil

It has been 3 days since the shortage of petroleum in the world. I rarely see cars on the streets running. Gasoline price rose from 3 dollars a gallon to 8 dollars a gallon. Some medicines are no longer available because it to has petroleum in it. I had a bad headache the other day but i had to stand the pain because the pain relivers i take is no longer available. The detergent to wash my clothes is more expensive then ever, i have to reuse my clothes and make sure i dont dirty them as much so i can save detergent and make it last. This situation is depressing, we were use to quality and fancy stuff, but now with the oil shortage all over the world, we can no longer have what we want, and do the things we use to do, like drive to a theme park, or have our clothes clean.

life without telephone?

Today I needed to contact my friends to go play soccer. He leaves 40 minutes away in car. I could get a hold of hime because they no longer make telephones to talk to people. Telephone was an important method of communicating with people. The only way to get a reach of him is by going to his house, but he might not even be there. I wish we could have telephones again, it would make life more easier.
